Jim McCarthy

Financial Advisor

Jim began his investment career in 1983 when he joined Baker Boyer Bank as the investment manager.  During his tenure there, he was responsible for managing the investments for both the bank and for their trust department.  After 20 successful years there, Jim went to work for Smith Barney as a Financial Consultant.  In 2009 Smith Barney closed their doors in small market areas, and Jim found a new home with Edward Jones.  In 2013, Jim, along with his partner, Ginger Kessel, joined E.K. Riley Investments, LLC.  An acquisition of E.K. Riley Investments by LPL Financial in 2020 presented an opportunity to create a brand and continue operating independently.  After a brief stint with LPL, Jim chose to partner with Commonwealth Financial Network.  Jim puts clients first and believes that each deserves an individual plan for financial independence.

Jim spent most of the 1960's and 1970's in the military, retiring as a reserve Lt. Colonel.  He spent two tours of duty in Vietnam, one as an advisor and the other as helicopter pilot.
